Educational Partnership Between the American Academy and American Hospital Tbilisi

As part of a three-year exclusive collaboration between American Hospital Tbilisi and the Guivy Zaldastishvili American Academy, students interested in medicine had the opportunity to explore both the fundamentals of medicine and the latest advances in modern, high-tech healthcare.
As part of the project, several groups of GZAAT 11th- and 12th-grade students completed 2-4-week practical and educational internships at American Hospital Tbilisi.
Throughout the program, students were introduced to the principles of hospital and healthcare system operations, relevant legislation and regulations, JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation requirements, and modern medical infrastructure and technologies. They visited various medical and administrative departments, learned about waste management and infection prevention systems, observed diagnostic examinations, procedures, and surgical interventions, and gained hands-on knowledge of basic medical techniques and first-aid principles.
Upon completion of the course, participating students received letters of recommendation from American Hospital Tbilisi.
This collaboration is part of American Hospital Tbilisi’s social responsibility initiatives and aims to support the professional development of the next generation and encourage young people interested in pursuing careers in healthcare.
