Convocation Ceremony at the American Academy

On September 5, 2025, the Guivy Zaldastanishvili American Academy in Tbilisi celebrated the start of the new school year with its annual Convocation Ceremony.
The Convocation Ceremony “calls together” the students, teachers, the parents’ council, and the trustees of the American Academy to celebrate the beginning of the new school year.
The celebration opened with a performance of the national anthem. This year, the school director, Andrés J. Cruz, addressed the attendees, congratulating the school community on the beginning of the new academic year.
The Convocation Ceremony was first introduced by the academy's founding director, Donald W. Thomas, in 2013, and has since become a cherished tradition.
